From Kath & Kim’s Jane Turner to Tigers’ legend Dustin Martin and Test cricketer James Pattinson, who built and sold a number of properties.

And billionaire Adrian Portelli snapped up all of this season’s The Block homes at Phillip Island for a massive sum of $15m.

Property shake-up coming in 2025
Kath and Kim’s Jane Turner OAM and her husband John Denton sold their five-bedroom Elwood manor at 8 Tiuna Grove for $7.5m in October, which was first listed for sale in 2020 with a $7.3m-$8m price range.
The Logie-award winner and comedian paid $802,500 for the abode in February 1997 and renovated it in 2005.
Retired Richmond legend Dustin Martin has also made a litany of property plays in the residential and commercial markets, with his most recent sale of his Albert Park home 43 Kerferd Rd for $1.8m in December.
Listed in November with a $1.7m-$1.8m asking price, the three-bedroom house passed in at auction for $1.76m and sold later that day.
Property records show he purchased the weatherboard home for $993,000 in May 2012 and began renting it out in 2015.
The Brownlow and three-time Norm Smith medallist and his manager Ralph Carr, who have worked together since the start of Martin’s footy career, are also offloading four neighbouring retail properties at 401-407 Victoria St, Abbotsford with a $9m-plus price tag.
Former Test cricketer-turned-builder James Pattinson followed suit, selling homes he built in Melbourne’s southeast.
The fast bowler, who made his Test debut in late 2011, transitioned into the building world and sold two townhouses in Mordialloc at the tail-end of 2024, with 45a McKay St selling for $890,000 in October.
Earlier in the year, Pattinson sold his four-bedroom family home at 65 Ruskin St, Elwood for $3.47m. He paid $1.762m for it in October 2019 before renovating and extending it in 2021.
“It has been a really nice family home, it’s got everything; it’s sad to see it go but we’re in the game of building and moving into places now so, you can’t keep them all,” he said.
Hospitality mogul and television chef Shane Delia and his wife Maha sold their two-storey Moonee Ponds pad in September for $2.289m.
The Maha restaurateur purchased the four-bedroom residence at 25 Dickens St from a friend 10 years prior for $1.75m – a substantial price cut from its initial $2.6m-$2.8m asking guide.
And former Australian treasurer Josh Frydenberg found a new owner for his four-bedroom Hawthorn house at 40 Illawarra Rd, but only after it passed in at its auction on a $3.61m bid – the lower end of its $3.5m-$3.8m price guide.
But the now Goldman Sachs’ Australian and New Zealand chairman sold it the same day for $3.755m.
Fitness influencer Steph Miller and her husband Josh sold their Palm Springs-style pad in Brighton East for about $7.8m last week.
Co-founder of the fitness app Kic, Kic Podcast and model, Steph purchased the four-bedroom house for $7m in 2022.
The home that features a pool, spa, outdoor barbecue terrace, 240-bottle wine cellar, steam room and three-car garage was listed with a $7.35m-$7.65m asking range.
Singer and composer Julia Stone sold her beloved first home in October for $925,000.
Known for being half of the folk and indie duo with her brother, Angus, she offloaded the two-bedroom apartment at 2/85 Westbury St, St Kilda, which she bought for $727,500, property records reveal.
The ARIA award-winning singer even converted the second bedroom into a music studio.
