Federal Judges Who Ruled Against Trump Receive ‘Alarming’ Unsolicited Pizza Deliveries

Ed. note: Welcome to our daily feature, Quote of the Day.
It’s very alarming to think that all we’re doing is our job, and we have to fear. We should not have to fear that. We don’t want judges worried about the decisions that they’ll make in any particular case. It’s not fair to the litigants, it’s not fair to the system. …
We shall get through this moment. We just need to be empowered and emboldened to just stay the course and do our job. The republic is safe as long as the court doors remain open.
— Judge J. Michelle Childs of the D.C. Circuit, in comments given while speaking on a panel of judges on a National Constitution Center podcast, concerning an “alarming” unsolicited pizza delivery at her home. As noted by Bloomberg Law, Childs was part of an appellate panel that rejected Donald Trump’s claims that he ought to be immune from criminal prosecution. According to the U.S. Marshals Service, threats against judges who have ruled against the Trump administration are increasing, and several of those judges have also received these anonymous pizza deliveries.
