Man burns 67-year-old girlfriend with hot soup for talking

Alexander Alton McDavid (McLennan County Jail).
A 35-year-old Texas man landed himself in hot water when he allegedly dumped scalding soup on his 67-year-old girlfriend, causing third-degree burns, because he said she was talking too much.
Alexander Alton McDavid, of Waco, is facing charges of injury to the elderly, assault with bodily injury with a previous conviction, continuous violence against family, terror threat of family and resisting arrest, according to jail records. McDavid remained in the McLennan County Jail on a $130,000 bond as of Monday afternoon.
Local CBS affiliate KWTX obtained an arrest affidavit that reportedly said the victim and McDavid were arguing on Feb. 28 at the apartment in the 1700 block of Washington Avenue. McDavid reportedly got mad and told the victim she was talking too much. The victim was heating soup in the microwave and as she was taking it out, McDavid allegedly swiped at the plate, causing the soup to spill. She suffered third-degree burns on her shoulder and forearm, cops reportedly stated.
The victim does not have a phone or a car, so she did not initially contact police. But a few days later, she left the apartment for an appointment at the Social Security office. She stopped at the police department as well to make a report, the affidavit reportedly stated. Cops took the report and photographed her burns.
