Netflix star Jason Oppenheim tours Qld mega mansion
Reality real estate TV star Jason Oppenheim of US hit show Selling Sunsets is on the Gold Coast and believes Glitter Strip properties are selling at a 60 per cent discount compared to those in the US.
The 47-year-old toured some of the hottest real estate on the market and said the Gold Coast was a “hidden gem”.
Kollosche managing director Michael Kollosche alongside agents Jamie Harrison and Matthew Follent showed Oppenheim two properties including a mansion at 8 Southern Cross Drive, Cronin Island, in Surfers Paradise, and an apartment in Dune at Main Beach.
“We also took the opportunity to discuss the real estate landscape in the Gold Coast, Australia and the US and share insights on the different markets,” Mr Kollosche posted online.
“In summary with the lifestyle, quality of homes and climate, Jason thought we were selling GC real estate at a 60 per cent discount to the US and that the Gold Coast is a hidden gem.”
Oppenheim and his twin brother Brett run the Oppenheim Group and feature on Netflix series Selling Sunsets in Los Angles and the spin-off Selling the OC in Orange County.
The shows follow the highs and lows of Oppenheim and his team of agents as they sell luxury real estate to cashed-up buyers.

Mr Harrison said Oppenheim was on holiday on the Gold Coast and wanted to further understand the city’s real estate market and inspect high-end homes.
“He reached out to Michael (Kollosche) through a mutual contact,” Mr Harrison said.
“Once he saw what you could get here he was very impressed.
“The Gold Coast represents amazing value in comparison to Los Angeles and other parts of the States.”
Mr Harrison said he spent 45 minutes showing Oppenheim the Cronin Island mansion in Surfers Paradise.
“This property is coming to market in the next week and the big thing with it is it’s a Hollywood Hills-style home.
“To get a home of this scale and proportion is obviously a rare find on the Gold Coast.
“He (Oppenheim) was really grateful to us for showing him through.”
The sprawling riverfront home is on a triple block spanning 2221sq m.
It includes five ensuited bedrooms as well as a pontoon, tennis court, multiple media rooms, pool, gaming room, custom wine cellar and rooftop office.
“Having 360 degree views of both the main river and Surfers Paradise skyline is also a very attractive feature,” Mr Harrison said.
Oppenheim also shared videos hanging out with Jack Doohan, the son of legendary motorcycle racer Mick, on the northern Gold Coast earlier this week.
